Matt Kim

Executive Director

Matt Kim is an Executive Director at Affirma Capital, based in Seoul. He has more than 16 years of experience in the financial industry.

Prior to joining Affirma Capital, Matt worked for Korea National Pension Service (KNPS), the third-largest pension fund in the world. At KNPS he had committed more than USD 3bn in private equity and infrastructure projects for 7 years.

Prior to KNPS, he spent 9 years in the Investment Banking Division at Hyundai Securities, where he was involved in leveraged finance, structured finance, and corporate finance. Before that, he taught mechanical engineering at Korea Third Military Academy as 1st lieutenant for 3 years.

Matt received a BS and MS in mechanical engineering at Seoul National University and a MEM (Master of Engineering Management), a collaborative program between the Thayer School of Engineering and Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College. He is a CFA charter holder.
