William Ma

Legal & Compliance Head

William is Legal Counsel at Affirma Capital, based in Shanghai.

William has 20 years of experience in Private Equity Investment, M&A, Investment Banking and Risk Management. Prior to joining Affirma Capital, William was Head of Investment at Heng Xing Capital, where he led the execution of several successful transactions including a cross-border acquisition of a well-known French fashion brand, and an investment in China’s top snack food company which exited through a 100% acquisition by Pepsi Co.

Prior to Heng Xing Capital, William was Corporate Finance Director at a NASDAQ-listed company Xinhua Finance Media, where he took responsibility for all investment, M&A and post-acquisition integration. He also led the IPO of the company and raised USD 300mn on the NASDAQ.

William has a Master of Economics (Finance) from International Islamic University of Malaysia.
