James Kim

Director

James Kim is a Director at Affirma Capital based in Seoul. Prior to joining Affirma Capital, James was a Director at Standard Chartered Private Equity since 2011, where he led or participated in seven investments and numerous partial and complete divestments. He currently serves on the boards of directors of EMC Holdings, and Sunwoo MT. In addition, he is responsible for the portfolio management of Kyobo Life and Hyundai Autoever. 

Prior to joining Affirma Capital (formerly, SCPE), James worked at Barclays Capital’s foreign exchange desk in Singapore focusing on structured products. He also previously worked at the Seoul Head Office, Southeast Asia Regional Headquarters, and North America Regional Headquarters of Hanjin Shipping where he managed the pricing strategies for 19 Asian countries.

James received a BA in business economics from Brown University and an MBA from New York University Stern School of Business.
