Gilbert Zeng

Founding Partner, Head of China

Gilbert Zeng is a Founding Partner at Affirma Capital and the firm’s Head of China. He is based in Hong Kong.

Prior to Affirma Capital, Gilbert was Managing Director and Head of China for Standard Chartered Private Equity (SCPE). He has more than 15 years of experience in private equity, investment banking and corporate law. Since joining SCPE in 2011, Gilbert has played a key role in building the SCPE franchise in China. He has led SCPE’s investments in COFCO International (now COFOC Fortune), China Cinda AMC, ZTO Express, Multi Concepts Link Restaurant Management, Siyanli, and Zhuben Construction.

Prior to joining SCPE, Gilbert worked at Houlihan Lokey in Hong Kong specializing in financial restructuring, capital raising and M&A transactions across the Asia Pacific region. He has also worked at Jones Day focusing on M&A and private equity transactions.

Gilbert holds a Master of Law degree from Columbia Law School.
